Community Employment
In order to support the unique and varied interests and strengths of the adults we serve, the Open Community Program develops relationships with employers in a variety of fields, such as janitorial work, nursery/greenhouse, food services, hospitality and retail. All adults who express a desire to work in the community are assessed with a “Criteria for Community Employment” reference tool to direct formation of goals and supports provided, as well as to determine readiness.
Some examples of our current placements are: Home Depot, Pep Boys, U.S. Naval Academy, Ruby Tuesday’s, Subway, Rose’s, Tastee Freeze, Denny’s Restaurant, Applebee’s, Talbot and Caroline County Public Schools and Annapolis Bowl.
