Guidance for Parents of
Children with Special Needs:

Is a Residential School Right for Your Child?

Julie Hickey

Families of children with intellectual disabilities are faced with unique decisions regarding their education and care. On February 1, 2012, two special information and question/answer sessions will be held at the Ivymount School in Rockville for parents by an expert on residential special education to help with these critical decisions. This event has been specially designed in cooperation with the Benedictine School.

Please join Julie Hickey for a discussion of how to determine if a residential placement is best and what to look for in a residential school. Julie is Education Director of The Benedictine School. Benedictine’s Residential Coordinator Shirley Blackston and parents of residential students will also participate.

This presentation will be given at 4 pm and again at 6 pm on February 1st at The Ivymount School, 11614 Seven Locks Road, Rockville, Maryland 20854. Please call Jeff Moran at The Benedictine School with any questions and to register at 410 364 9615, or email at jeff.moran@benschool.org.
