2007 Spring Benefit: $350,000 for the Kids!

One of the Eastern Shore’s most successful annual fundraising events drew hundreds of people together from throughout the mid-Atlantic region to the Clarion Fontainebleau Resort in Ocean City on May 4 - 6, 2007. The generosity of everyone associated with Spring Benefit 2007 resulted in over $350,000 for the special kids of Benedictine! For a grand finale, Benedictine celebrated the successful completion of the monumental, two-year $10 million dollar “Campaign for Benedictine!”

This year’s theme, “The Path to Love and Hope” was summed up nicely by Sister Jeannette: “At Benedictine, we offer our special individuals the chance to experience love through communication and interaction with others, and the hope of a life of self-respect and fulfillment. Spring Benefit is our ‘Path to Love and Hope.’ Everyone here cares deeply about helping each special child succeed; this weekend puts that caring into action and produces tangible results.” She added, “It is a joy to walk this path together with all these wonderful people.”

Music and dancing completed the evening, and a hearty buffet “Farewell Breakfast” brought the weekend to an end, but what was accomplished in Ocean City continues to help change lives up the road in Ridgely and beyond. Our parents help make Benedictine’s miracles possible, and are just as much “The Path to Love and Hope” as Benedictine is. You put your children on the path, and the love and hope are yours as much as theirs. Thank you for all you do.
