Health Care Services
The goal of the Benedictine Health Care Services is to provide comprehensive health care to all students associated with the Benedictine Programs and Services.
Preventative:
- Twenty-four hour evaluation of high-risk students
- Annual flu vaccine
- Annual physical
- Current immunizations in health record
- Weekly allergy shots and daily insulin administration
- Assessment of complaints and awareness of safety issues
- Evaluation of medication needs and changes
Routine:
- Medication administration and documentation
- Assessment of new medication with positive/negative effects
- Care of the sick
- First aid assessment and treatment
- Ongoing nursing documentation
- Weekly psychiatrist appointments
- Written nursing plans for all IEP meetings and nursing participation impertinent medical needs of a student
Emergency:
- Emergency room visits
- Oxygen therapy
- Suction therapy
- Evaluation of injuries
- Wound care
- In-patient medical/psychiatric evaluation
