Open Community Adult Services
Since 1982 the Benedictine Open Community Program (OCP) has been supporting community living and independent living skills for persons ages 21 and over with developmental disabilities. Our beautifully decorated group homes provide a comfortable home environment in attractive and safe neighborhoods. During the day, OCP participants explore vocational interests, engage in job development, and build skills in industries of choice, leading to competitive employment in the community or volunteer opportunities. Licensed by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Developmental Disabilities Administration, Benedictine is proud to carry on a tradition of excellence based on the belief in the dignity of all people. Benedictine’s partnership with the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides opportunities for transitioning youth and adults with a range of disabilities to benefit from career exploratory assessments as well as community-based, industry-specific trainings and job development services.
